Founded 2001 · Eugene, Oregon
Built on honesty. Driven by real solutions.
Ram Jack West started with a simple belief: Pacific Northwest homeowners deserved a foundation repair company that told them the truth. Twenty-five years and 3,000+ structures later, that belief still runs the company.

How it started
The story so far
A house mover who saw a better way
In 2001, Ken Marquardt was moving houses across the Pacific Northwest — literally picking up structures and relocating them. What he kept seeing frustrated him: too many homeowners were told their only option was to lift the entire house and replace the foundation. Then Ken found Ram Jack — patented, engineered steel pile systems that could stabilize and lift a foundation without the nuclear option. He started Ram Jack West as a small crew out of Eugene, Oregon.
From a small crew to a 75+ team
What started in Eugene grew steadily — not by chasing volume, but by earning trust. Homeowners referred their neighbors. The work expanded from residential foundations to seawalls, seismic retrofits, commercial deep foundations, and municipal projects — including landmarks like Tacoma City Hall and the Washington Park Arboretum.
Tyler Marquardt joins as Head of Operations
Tyler Marquardt grew up alongside his father, riding shotgun through Eugene as Ken moved houses. In 2022 he officially joined Ram Jack West as Head of Operations, bringing a modern operator's lens to a company with deep field expertise: tighter systems, stronger processes, and a customer experience as reliable as the repairs. Two generations, one standard of work.
Still run the way Ken started it
Today Ram Jack West operates from three offices — Eugene, Portland, and SeaTac (Seattle) — with a team of 75+ specialists, project managers, engineers, and support staff. We're still run the same way Ken started it: honest, thorough, and never inventing a problem that doesn't exist.
Our mission
Nothing more, nothing less
“We're on a mission to safely provide our community with the most effective structural repair solutions. Nothing more, nothing less.”
That’s not marketing copy. It’s the instruction Ken gave himself in 2001, and it’s the standard every evaluation, every pile installation, and every crew departure is measured against.
The truth promise
We’ll tell you the truth — even when it’s “you’re fine”
The most consistent thing homeowners say about us in reviews isn’t that we’re the fastest or the cheapest. It’s that we told them the truth.
We’ve sent evaluators to hundreds of homes where the crack on the wall was cosmetic — stress settling, temperature movement, or just an old house being an old house. We said so. We didn’t manufacture urgency. That honesty is our best long-term business strategy, and it’s the right thing to do. A homeowner who trusted us enough to get the truth will call us again when they actually need us — and they’ll tell their neighbors.
